which may be acquired through a tax deductible donation
to Point of Contact.
Both works were donated by the artists exclusively for Point of Contact.
Proceeds will serve to promote our artistic and community outreach programs.

ABOUT THIS PIECE
The original Black Shoes (2005),was produced in a limited edition of 3 sets of archival digital photographs, 27” x 38”. One of these 4-frame pieces was exhibited in the Dialogues & Solos show at The Point of Contact Gallery in 2006, and was later donated by the artists to the Point of Contact permanent collection.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Liliana Porter: Born in Argentina, 1941, has resided in New York since 1964. Work includes printmaking, works on canvas, photography, video, installation and public art projects. Awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1980, three New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowships (1985, 1996, 1999), the Mid Atlantic/NEA Regional Fellowship (1994) and seven PSC- CUNY research awards (from 1994 to 2004). Her work has been shown nationally and internationally and is represented in many public and private collections, among them:
TATE Modern Collection, London, UK; Museum of Modern Art, New York; Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Buenos Aires, Argentina; Philadelphia Museum of Art; La Biblioteque Nationale, Paris, France; Museo de Arte Moderno, Buenos Aires, Argentina; Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington DC; and Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid, Spain.
Ana Tiscornia: Born in Montevideo, Uruguay,1951 has resided in New York since 1991.
Selected awards include a Fellowship at New York Foundation for the Arts (2004); the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant (2002); First Prize: Concurso Paul Cezanne (1986);Fellowship: Ministère des Affaires Etrangères de la France; Selected to represent Uruguay at IX Bienal de la Habana; Dinámicas de la cultura urbana. Havana, Cuba (2006); Assistant Professor, SUNY College at Old Westbury. Art Editor, Point of Contact, The Journal of Verbal and Visual Arts. Co-Director Fox in The Mirror, video by Liliana Porter with music by Sylvia Meyer. Visual Project in collaboration with Liliana Porter for Otra Parte art magazine, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
